■ IN a game played in rain and strong winds the chances of a good game were never on the cards.
But Ossett started strongly and took the game to Pickering. But it was the away side who took the lead after 24 minutes as Thornton converted a right-wing cut back from close range.
The game became insignificant after 30 minutes as Pickering’s Omar Sanyang suffered a broken leg from a fair challenge.
The second half played out with little incident.
