BUXTON beat snow, rain, mist and Gainsborough to top the table for the first time in seven weeks.
Missed first-half chances and a lacklustre second-half display made this a closer game than necessary for the hosts. The fi rst half provided rich entertainment as Buxton outplayed Trinity, but converted only one of several clear openings.
Warren Clarke was the star but the first chance fell to Jason Gilchrist, who headed a Tommy Elliott free-kick wide from close range on four minutes.
