WHITBY TOWN ended their four-match winless run with a crucial victory over play-off rivals Bamber Bridge to go above them in the table.
It was the perfect start for the hosts as former Middlesbrough marksman Brad Fewster raced onto a long ball to slot left-footed past onrushing goalkeeper Matthew Hudson.
Within moments, Hudson was heading for the changing rooms. The Brig keeper was adjudged to have handled outside his penalty area at Josh MacDonald’s feet and was red-carded.
