■JAMIE Thornton’s latepenalty salvaged a point for struggling Pickering in a topsy-turvy thriller with tenman Yorkshire Amateurs.
The former Leeds Academy defender slotted home from the spot with five minutes left to rescue the Pikes, who led 2-0 at the break.
Billy Logan fired them in front after 11 minutes and after newly arrived keeper Ben Bottomly denied Roy Fogarty a leveller, Wayne Brooksby made it 2-0.
Luke Sharry’s long-range screamer started the fightback and Nathan Cartman levelled just after the hour.
