SCARBOROUGH’S playoff hopes took a knock as they were held to a goalless draw as both sides finished a man light.
Sam Baird made a surprise appearance in the Ashton defence after a lengthy injury and Jack Redshaw took over as captain.
The hosts won an early corner off Will Thornton which saw Florian Yonsian volley well wide from Redshaw’s header.
On the quarter hour, Scarborough’s Luca Colville was taken down by Ekow Coker with the freekick being blocked.
