WHITBY suffered a third straight defeat as their nightmare start to the new season continued.
In contrast, FC United made it back-to-back away wins in the space of five days, despite finishing the game with ten men.
It was the Red Rebels who threatened first, on 11 minutes, when Shane Bland tipped wide from Paul Ennis.
Coleby Shepherd and ex-Middlesbrough man Jonathan Franks, both fired wide for Whitby, from distance, with FC’s Luke Griffiths doing likewise.
