AN entertaining game went Matlock’s way, the Gladiators finishing the stronger with the score tied at 2-2 after 77 minutes.
It meant a memorable home first game in charge for new Matlock manager Craig Elliott, one he felt was deserved.
“One hundred per cent we deserved it, we were the better side,” he said afterwards.
“There’s things we need to address, but I felt we played well.”
