SOUTH Shields were fortunate to preserve their unbeaten home record as a late Rob Briggs goal gave the Mariners a narrow win against a spirited Warrington Rylands side.
Traffic problems on their way meant Rylands arrived late to the 1st Cloud Arena and kick-off was delayed for 15 minutes.
The late start did not affect the visitors and Rylands started the game the brightest, Dean Furman and Callum Dolan both denied by Myles Boney in the home goal.
