STOCKTON maintained top spot as they thrashed Sheffield FC. The hosts took the lead after 40 seconds when Elliott Beddow chased down the Sheffield defence to set up Liam Cooke who scrambled the ball over the line.
It was 2-0 after 34 minutes when Beddow volleyed home from 12 yards out.
The third came from skipper Adam Nicholson who headed home a Glen Butterworth cross.
Stephen Thompson made it 4-0 in the 71st minute after beating the offside trap and rounding the keeper.
