■ JAMES CLIFTON’S brace was enough for Spalding United to stay within sight of top spot in the table after a convincing win at relegation-threatened Gresley.
The first half showed very little in the way of chances as the game descended into a physical battle.
Spalding took the lead early in the second half when Clifton rose highest to head home Lewis Hillard’s corner.
