WITHAM Town came out on top in a keenly-contested encounter at the Simarco Stadium. Two goals from debutant Michael Bareck claimed the points for Witham and the winner came only a minute after Stowmarket veteran Craig Parker equalised in the 80th minute.
There was little to choose between the sides in the early stages, but Bareck opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a good shot from the right that went just inside the far post.
Witham’s defence held until Stowmarket’s Harvey Sayer forced Rhys Madden into a great save in the 80th minute....
