AN EXCELLENT defensive performance earned Morpeth a point on their travels in this grim, gritty stalemate, which yielded not a single shot on target from either side.
Morpeth skipper Jeff Henderson was the standout player, leading by example from the back, clearing every ball sent his way.
The first opportunity of the game was presented to Stafford midfielder Jack Baxter, but he sent his shot wide in the 23rd-minute.
A minute later Morpeth had a chance of their own but Connor Pye was unable to hit the target from close range.
