BELPER Town beat Atherton Collieries 2-0 which means they have now won two consecutive games and kept successive clean sheets.
In many respects this was an uninspiring game for the neutral as neither side could create much in front of goal.
Gareth Peet saw a 29th minute free kick saved at the foot of the post. And a skirmish in the visitors’ goal mouth on 35 minutes failed to produce an opportunity for the hosts.
The second half proved more entertaining for the 500 plus crowd and Jay Fitzmartin’s shot went narrowly wide ...
