DANNY GRAINGER’S men had won well, 5-0, on opening day but had conceded 13 goals and scored only twice in their subsequent defeats.
This was more like the composed Workington side that had won promotion last season.
Even so, they created only one real clear cut chance in the first-half, Greg McCarragher’s cross volleyed fiercely six yards out by Scott Allison but straight at goalkeeper Cameron Belford. He didn’t know much about the save but turned the ball over the bar.
