A GOAL in each half saw Morpeth Town overcome managerless Gainsborough Trinity at Craik Park.
Michael Turner headed the hosts in front and then Liam Noble’s goal at the start of the second half ensured all three points for the Highwaymen.
Played in significant heat, both sides looked neat and tidy in possession, with Morpeth seeing plenty of the ball and creating more of the chances.
One of those fell to Andrew Johnson, who flicked an effort over the keeper but onto the woodwork as Gainsborough’s goal survived.
