GAINSBOROUGH Trinity gave new manager Russ Wilcox a dream start, as they had too much for Atherton Collieries at the Kal Group Stadium.
Trinity led at the break thanks to Dayle Southwell’s 13th minute penalty, stepping up to send Nico De Freitas-Hansen the wrong way from 12-yards.
Having dominated the first half, the Blues still only went in one-up with work left to do after the break.
