MATLOCK looked settled for three vital points until their goalkeeper Saul Deeney had one of those moments all custodians dread as he conceded the softest of goals to gift the Highwaymen a point.
In a game which struggled to get going until the second half, the result did neither side any favours in pursuit of a play off place.
The first shot in anger came from Joe West on 17 minutes, his shot clearing the Morpeth crossbar by a good distance.
Then Matlock skipper John Johnston fired directly at visiting goalkeeper Dan Lowson.
