OSSETT United dented Consett’s playoff hopes with a confident and assured home win thanks to an Adam Priestley hat-trick.
The game was only five minutes old when he opened the scoring as he turned home from close range to give the hosts the perfect start.
Both sides traded blows in a stop-start half, the visitors limited to half chances with Ossett the more likely to score again, and they did just that on the stroke of half time as Priestley broke through and drilled a half-volley into the top corner.
