Northern Premier League Premier Division fixtures announced

Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield will travel to Worksop Town on the Northern Premier League opening day.

It’s a repeat of last season’s play-off semi-final, which Macclesfield won 3-1 in front of just over 3,000 spectators.

Blyth Spartans make the trip to Ashton United on 10 August. Now under the stewardship of Nolberto Solano, Blyth will be hoping for an instant return to National League North after last season’s relegation.

Two newly promoted sides, Leek Town and Stockton Town, will meet in Staffordshire on day one. Leek won NPL West last term while Stockton won the NPL East play-offs, overcoming Dunston on penalties in the final after a thrilling 4-4 draw.

Hebburn Town’s first game in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division is against play-off semi-finalists Warrington Rylands, while Prescot Cables, now managed by David Dempsey, will host Matlock Town.

Mickleover, who have moved laterally from the Southern League, are away to Hyde United on day one.

Morpeth Town host FC United of Manchester to kick-off their campaign. Both sides were deducted points last season, each finishing in the bottom half.

The remaining games see Guiseley face Workington, Ilkeston Town take on Gainsborough Trinity, Lancaster City home to Basford United and Whitby Town hosting Bamber Bridge.
