ADAM Le Fondre got his FC United side off to the perfect start as they won their season opener at Morpeth Town.
The forward, who left Scottish Premiership side Hibernian last season, latched on to a sloppy back pass on 56 minutes to round keeper Dan Langley and slot into the empty net.
In truth, this had the hallmarks of two sides shrugging off early season rustiness with a smattering of loose passes making for a low key encounter.
