Blyth Spartans have parted company with manager Nolberto Solano.
The Peruvian had only been in charge for six games, taking over from Jon Shaw following relegation from National League North.
Solano, a former Newcastle United midfielder, returned to the North East last May having previously managed in Canada, Sweden and his native Peru.
Spartans had gained three points during his tenure, all draws, and conceded nine goals over the Bank Holiday weekend during heavy defeats to Worksop Town and Morpeth Town.
They currently sit 21st in NPL Premier Division and travel to Campion on Saturday in a televised FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round tie (KO 12.30pm).
The club’s official website released a statement:
“Blyth Spartans can confirm that they have agreed to part ways with Nolberto Solano.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Nobby for his efforts while at Spartans.
“Assistant manager David Stockdale will take charge of the squad as the interim manager ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie.”
