WIDNES edged past Bootle in an action-packed match at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.
Sharif Deans opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, finally finding the net after missing two earlier chances.
Ten minutes later, James Steele doubled the lead with a composed finish, and Deans struck again in the 40th minute to make it 3-0.
Bootle pulled one back just before halftime, with Tom Hannigan converting from a corner. In the second half, Bootle found new momentum, and Ben Hodkinson’s 74thminute penalty brought them to within a goal ...
