JOSH SCOTT’S late goal extended Stockton’s winning run to eight games in all competitions.
Scott struck with 13 minutes remaining in a hard-fought encounter against Matlock Town.
The first half was a battle of attrition as both sides cancelled each other out.
Scott fired a warning shot after Stephen Thompson manoeuvred past his opponent and cut the ball to him.
Matlock’s big chance came when Sam Essien got in over the top but he was smothered by goalkeeper Nathan Harker before he could convert.
