IT was a first home game to forget for new Blyth Spartans manager Michael Connor, overseeing his side’s demoralising drubbing in their bottom-four clash against Matlock Town.
Although there was an expectant feel to the 1,406 watching inside Croft Park, the visitors were dominant from the off and broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark.
Adam Clayton’s lofted through ball was controlled by Montel Gibson, who held off debutant Ben Fell before slotting through goalkeeper Adam Richardson’s legs.
