HYDE United rued missed opportunities in front of goal as they were held by Bamber Bridge at home.

The Tigers had the first big chance in the 11th minute as Matt Fearnley found Lewis Thompson down the left. His cross found Ewan Bange in the box but he couldn’t hit the target.

In the 24th minute, Brig skipper Matthew Potts forced a great save from Callum Hiddleston, but a minute later they found themselves behind.

Hyde broke and Jack Redshaw found his way to the byline and crossed low. Brig keeper Harvey Bardsley could only parry back into danger and Jordan Scanlon picked up the loose ball and fired home.

Bamber Bridge equalised in the 28th minute via a wind assisted cross. Liam Brockbank crossed down the left but the wind got hold of it and it gathered

pace and power to swerve beyond Hiddleston and into the top corner.

The home side then had three big chances to go ahead before half-time. Matt Fearnley forced a good save from Bardsley and then placed a shot wide of the post. Bange also headed wide from a cross by Callum Spooner.

Hyde had the best chance of the second half from a corner in the 77th minute. Halifax loanee Frankie Sinfield produced an unplayable delivery and Jack Byrne headed goalwards but it was somehow cleared off the line.
