HEDNESFORD TOWN won the Staffordshire Senior Cup for the first team in almost 40 years after hammering Rushall Olympic 5-1 on Wednesday night.
The Pitmen, who are currently in a two-way battle with North Ferriby United for the Northern Premier League Premier Division title, fell behind to a Kyle Haynes screamer after 20 minutes.
Hednesford equalised through Ben Bailey eight minutes later and the two sides went into half time all-square.
Two quickfire goals from Jamey Osborne shortly after the hour mark gave the Pitmen a two-goal cushion before Aaron Rey and Dave MacPherson added further goals to complete the drubbing.
