MANAGER Ian Deakin had to wait only five minutes for his tactical switch to bear fruit and bring Ilkeston Town a valuable win.
He replaced midfielder L’Varn Brandy with striker Alex Hardwick, who belted the ball home for his first goal at the Derbyshire club.
Workington were unable to respond with Ilkeston captain Tom Marshall in command at the back, limiting chances to danger man Steven Rigg.
