TOMMY WRIGHT and Andrew Wilson have been appointed joint-managers of Southern Premier League Premier Division club Corby Town.
Wright leaves Harrogate Town to take up the post, while Wilson has quit his role as assistant manager of Histon.
Wright, 28, began his career at Leicester City and made over 20 appearances for their first team between 2001 and 2006.
He has since had spells at Barnsley, Darlington, Aberdeen, Grimsby, Kidderminster, Luton, Forest Green and Tamworth.
The former England Under-19 and Under-20 striker joined Harrogate this summer but has cut his time at the CNG Stadium short to make his first foray into management.
Wilson was part of the Corby Under-18 side in the early 1990s but a serious ankle ligament injury limited his playing career.
He has previously worked for the Colchester United and Leicester City academies and has managerial experience at United Counties League club Harborough Town, where he won three promotions in five years.
He’s been number two at Histon since December last year but has now dropped down a step of the pyramid to take up a new position at Steel Park.
In a joint statement, the newly appointed pair said: “We would like to thank the chairman and board for giving us this opportunity. We assure them and the fans that we will do whatever it takes to repay them for the faith shown in us.
“Our first game on Saturday is in the FA Cup against Barwell at home and we urge the fans to get behind us in what is a massive game for the Club! We are relishing this chance to take the club into a new era – the journey starts now!”
