Leighton Town part company with manager Mark Eaton

are searching for a new manager after parting company with Mark Eaton following a poor run of results.

Eaton replaced Craig Bicknell in the summer but Leighton have struggled so far this season and currently sit 19th in the League Southern Division One Central.

They’ve won just three of their 13 league games so far this term and were knocked out of the on Saturday after a 4-0 defeat at Ryman Premier side Town.

The result meant their third loss in four with only one goal scored during that time and Leighton announced today that Eaton had been sacked.

“Following the recent run of poor results and performances the club executives have decided to relieve Mark Eaton of the position of manager effective immediately,” read a club statement.

“Mark is very disappointed with this decision and the executives wish to thank him and his associates for their hard work, commitment and effort put in since the start of this season .

“From today, football matters will be handled by Stuart Murray whilst the executives consider the situation.”
