BANBURY’S unbeaten run stretched to eight games after Jaanai Gordon’s winner saw them hold off Alvechurch to maintain second spot.
Both teams shared chances early on but Banbury took the lead out of nothing on 29 minutes.
Alvechurch defenders backed off, allowing Giorgio Rasulo to run with the ball and unleash a spectacular 25-yard shot into the far corner.
With three minutes of the first half remaining, Banbury could have gone 2-0 up when they broke away in a three-man move that saw Claudio Dias shoot wide.
