RUSHALL Olympic boss Liam McDonald admits he had to be patient to sign talented striker Simeon Cobourne.
McDonald beat off stiff competition to sign the 25-year-old from Halesowen Town, who have been switched to the Northern Premier League‘s new Division One Midlands for 2021-22.
“I am really excited to get this one over the line,” McDonald said.
“I have tried to sign him on numerous occasions in the past and I can’t wait to start working with him here.
“He will add so much to our attacking options; he is the calibre of player that we want at this football club.
“The lad has got pace to burn – I don’t think that there will be many quicker than him in this league. He’s also a natural finisher who works hard for the team and comes here off the back of a really good spell at Halesowen.”
A regular on the scoresheet for the Yeltz, Cobourne moved to The Grove from Midland League Premier Division side Romulus in early November 2019.
He scored 18 goals in 15 games for Roms prior to his move and boasted an impressive record of over 140 goals in his last 90 appearances.
