■ LOVELY weather, seven goals and a cracking game for the neutral, but Barton Rovers started 2022 on the wrong end of the scoreline.
Barton were behind after only 49 seconds when Jon Clements opened the scoring for Welwyn, before Dean Dummett levelled things up. Rovers gave the visitors a helping hand in the 12th minute when Lewis Thomas diverted a corner into his own net for a 2-1 lead for Welwyn.
