GARY Higdon settled a dour encounter Westbury’s way with a second-half winner at Slimbridge.
In a quiet opening half with little chances at either end, it was Slimbridge that had the best opportunity when Ethan Dunbar was played in, but keeper Jonathan Hill reacted well to block Dunbar’s effort.
The second half was not much more exciting, Slimbridge managed to get more time on the ball than the first, but it was Westbury’s Harvey Flippance that forced a good save from debutant stopper Luke Bell to liven up the game.
