■ MELKSHAM started brightly and took an early lead through Luke Hopper after good work from George Plank and Aaron Witchell on the left wing.
Sam Hendy slotted a powerful free-kick home on the brink of half-time and Melksham seemed to be cruising to victory.
Slimbridge looked a totally different team in the second half. James Sunley reduced the deficit with a smartly taken goal after 54 minutes.
Marley Thomas then scored with a penalty which meant the game was in the balance.
Both teams threatened, but the home side trimumphed after Albie Hopki...
