STOTFOLD gave visiting Welwyn Garden City a lesson in clinical finishing as they converted two of three good scoring opportunities and clinched all three points.
The Citizens failed to take the chances when they came, notably when Bailey Stevenson was thwarted by Alex Street in a one-on-one.
Stotford took the lead after 23 minutes when Robbie Buchanan cut inside and beat Joe Welch.
Welwyn finally got a goal back after 62 minutes when Lewis Taaffe scored.
Parity lasted only seven minutes as Alex Coppin netted what proved to be the match-winner.
