CALOR PREMIER promotion hopefuls St Albans City have signed former Arsenal defender Kerrea Gilbert.
The 26-year-old made two appearances in the Premier League for Arsene Wenger’s men and also played against Ajax in the 2005 Champions League.
Gilbert also has Football League experience for a number of other clubs including Cardiff and Leicester, where he was part of the squad that won League One in 2008-09.
The full-back has also enjoyed time in America and Ireland with Portand Timbers and Shamrock Rovers respectively.
Connor Calcutt has also signed for the Saints on a dual registration basis from Spartan South Midlands League side Berkhamsted FC – the striker has scored 22 goals in the league so far this season.
The pair made their debuts in Monday’s 4-2 win against AFC Totton, with Gilbert getting on the scoresheet. The result lifted the Saints into the Calor Premier play-off spots.
