MERTHYR Town have used their time in the footballing wilderness wisely – by appointing a new first-team manager.
The Southern League Premier South Martyrs have been “mothballed” for the entire 2020-21 season due to Covid travelling restrictions from the Welsh base.
But they have made a headstart in preparation for the 2021-22 campaign by appointing former playing favourite Dean Clarke as their new boss to replace club legend Gavin Williams.
