SHEFFIELD FC’s goalless run continued as Carlton Town ran out as winners in a dour game.
The best chance in the first half came to James Gregory, after good interplay from Alec Denton and Joel Purkiss, again the safe hands of Steggles came to the rescue.
In the second period Carlton were the more adventurous, with Will Mellors-Blair coming closest, after hooking over a first-time chance.
The goal came on 56 minutes, with a Dan Gordon throw trapped and struck home on the turn by Mellors-Blair.
