A PENALTY from Brad Woods- Garness decided this derby. Bedford dominted the first half but were unable to test Barton keeper Adam Harpur.
On 53 minutes the deadlock was broken when David Manu was upended in the Barton box and Woods-Garness stepped up to send Harpur the wrong way.
Brandon Carney came closest to levelling when he headed just over the Bedford crossbar with 20 minutes remaining.
