NEWENT TOWN have been booted out of their league – for running two first teams.
The club have been narrowly voted out of the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League because they are also fielding a side in Hellenic Division Two West. It was alleged that Newent were fielding a weaker side in the Northern Senior.
A special meeting was held at Frampton Community Centre – and Newent were expelled.
