CLIPSTONE were suddenly left in the dark when League Two neighbours Mansfield Town played a fundraising friendly to help them recover from a vandal attack.
Mansfield’s first team were winning 7-0 at half-time at Clipstone’s Workshop Van Hire Stadium on Tuesday night when the floodlights failed – leaving the 400 fans in darkness.
Big-hearted Mansfield boss Steve Evans suggested the friendly after the Northern Counties East Division One club was broken into on October 28, causing damage worth £2,200.
