TWO goals from Lee Mason saw South Shields edge a step closer to the title with a come-frombehind 5-2 win over Prescot Cables.
Cables edged ahead inside 60 seconds through a Michael Monaghan shot from just outside the penalty area.
Mason equalised five minutes before half-time, squeezing the ball home at the back post from Robert Briggs’ cross.
The home side had won three successive games, scoring 14 goals in the process, but were left stunned on 55 minutes with another supreme finish from Monaghan.
