STAMFORD narrowly beat Stocksbridge in a tame affair at the Zeeco Stadium.
Stamford took the lead midway through the first half, when Ollie Brown-Hill played a super ball through to Ryan Seal who smashed superbly past Edward Hall.
Stocksbridge’s best effort of the half came when Scott Ruthven lobbed the ball over Dan Haystead but, fortunately for the hosts, Jordan Cook was back to head off the line and preserve the lead by the break.
Todd Jordan had two great efforts for the visitors from corners but both were just wide.
