JOE Lumsden’s first-half strike ensured Tadcaster Albion maintained the pressure on First Division East table-toppers Morpeth Town as they edged past Carlton Town 1-0.
With Morpeth not in action, Tadcaster had the chance to close the gap to just three points and they did just that thanks to Lumsden poking home from close range on 38 minutes after Aiden Savory nodded Casey Stewart’s back-post cross into the danger zone.
That effort took the Taddy frontman to 15 goals for the season and he could have added to his tally in the second half.
