BOTH sides began the day hovering perilously close to the relegation zone but it was AFC Sudbury who came out on top scoring three goals in a 13-minute spell in the second half.
Following an even first period with few chances the match turned in the 49th minute when Basildon’s Joseph Turpin stopped a Callum Harrison shot and was immediately shown a red card.
Harrison, who has recently returned from New Zealand, stepped up to slot home from the penalty spot to give Sudbury the lead.
