■ BRENDAN Matthew’s first-half goal was enough for Ascot United to claim the points.
Sean McCormack started the game off positively for the Yellas, creating some decent opportunities.
The hosts continued to pile pressure on the Northwood defence and the hard work, finally paid off.
McCormack played a great pass down the right, which Matthew latched onto. He then carried the ball towards goal before hammering his effort into the bottom corner.
