LITTLEHAMPTON Town secured a hard-fought three points as they emerged victorious at the Sportsfield.
An even contest was ultimately decided in favour of the home team when Thomas Butler broke the deadlock on 85 minutes.
Both sides had chances in the first half as Dave Herkert (Littlehampton) and lan Draycott (Ashford) fired shots that were either saved or flew wide of a post.
The Golds came out the stronger side at the start of the second half, but a solid Ashford defence kept the home team at bay.
