MICHAEL Taylor’s double secured Rugby a first win in seven attempts.
Taylor struck with four minutes remaining of an even first half when applying a calm finish to Silvano Obeng’s lay-off.
Cambridge’s best opportunity ahead of that had seen debuting Town keeper Paul Hathaway do well to thwart Dylan Edge, with Edge also having a shot blocked shortly after the restart.
