STALYBRIDGE Celtic earned a hard fought three points against a resilient Newcastle Town.
Aaron Dwyer opened the scoring in the 11th minute finishing smartly into a corner after connecting with a Darius Osei cross.
Newcastle had a chance to equalise from the spot when Jake Avery was caught inside the area. Tommy van der Laan stepped up, but saw his penalty saved by Luke Hewitson.
The visitors were awarded a second penalty for handball in the 44th minute, which Avery stepped up to score.
