THE battle on the east coast had a very endof-season feel to it and finished goalless.
In truth, chances were at a premium throughout and therefore a draw was fair overall.
Alex O’Connor blasted over for Stocksbridge, while Curtis Bateson went close to breaking the deadlock for Cleethorpes in the best of the first-half action.
After the break, the home outfit had slightly the better of the goalmouth action. Harvey Tomlinson and
Sam Kay enjoyed decent opportunities but could not convert on a very frustrating afternoon for the hosts.
